The upcoming Senate election has been called a choice between the lesser of two evils. I believe that the greater of those two eyils is clearly Oliver North. If for no other reason, his well documented record of lying and illegal activites clearly disqualifies him from public office. A number of facts about candidate North that the voters should consider:
• Oliver North traded guns to the Iranians, the most treacherous antiAmerican government on earth. This was nothing but a craven pandering to terrorists that went against everything his commanderin-chief, Ronald Reagan, claimed to stand for.
• Oliver North is a creation of television. If the media—which he reviles in his every campaign speech—had not broadcast every word of his testimony before the Congrssional Committee on the Iran-Contra Affair, he would have been forgotten long ago. If experience has taught us anything, being good on TV is not a qualification for public office.
