He admits his chances to win in a write-in campaign are “very remote” but said he got invqlved because “I believe both parties have lost the way and dropped down to partisan bickering. They are not getting anything done.”
He said Sen. Charles Robb has been very ineffective in the senate and “I don’t expect North to be more effective. He’s very confrontational, not given to getting things done.”
He believes the public wants officials to work to make government better and to make decisions by collaboration and consensus. “The electorate has to stand up and say this is the wrong direction,” he said.
