Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office personnel were called to investigate a suspicious person reported seen in the Sperryville Cemetery at about 4 a.m. on Sept.27.
Checking out the scene, they found nothing missing or disturbed, but that has not always been true in the past.
“There have been previous instances where mementos left on the graves have been taken,” said Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz. “If anyone observes unusual activity in the cemetery, we want them to call the office.”
