Coming from a painting background and thirty years of teaching art at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Rebecca Humphrey’s recent mixed media collages revel in color and texture. Her inspiration comes from all the arts, particularly dance and poetry.
Nina Moore looks down at stones in creeks and is inspired to make handmade paper where color and surface patterning seeks to find this image. Each piece of paper goes repeatedly into different vats of colored pulp in water. The motion is part of the piece.
Eunice Wenger’s fiber medias are silk and handmade paper. “They compliment each other — one hard, one soft; one mat, one iridescent.
