It’s almost autumn, which means it’s almost heaven, at least in my little corner of the world.

Autumn is my favorite season. I love the cool, crisp air that bites through the lingering sunshine, inviting me outdoors for last-minute adventures before I begin my winter hibernation.

The stores have already begun the transformation, with rich russets, golds and dark green clothing on display among seasonal decorations with the same rich hues.

Stores always beat Mother Nature, it seems, giving us a taste of what’s to come when the first frost makes the leaves put on their accompanying “clothing.”

It’s during autumn that my house and the homes of my friends seem most welcoming to me.
