Margaret E. Devers, 89, of Sperryville died Monday, Oct. 1 in the Culpeper Regional Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Sperryville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Merlin Shorb officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal.
Mrs. Devers was bom April 5, 1912, in Rappahannock County, daughter of James A. • and Ella Hyde Estes. She was a member of the Sperryville United Methodist Church for .79 years.
She was married to the late Joseph Randolph Devers. Mrs. Devers was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters. She was the last of her immediate family.
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Ann Wayland and her husband, James of Sperryville; a son, James W. “Buddy” Devers and his wife, Bonnie of Front Royal; grandchildren, James Gregory Wayland and wife Teresa of Sperryville, Anthony Randolph Wayland and wife, Deanna of Sperryville, James W. Devers Jr. of Front Royal, Pamela K. Hibbs and husband, Kelly of Front Royal, Dana M. Pullen and husband Michael of Front Royal and John A. Devers of Front Royal; great-grandchildren, Zackariah G. Wayland, Seth Joseph Wayland, Derrick Hiserman and Danielle Hiserman, all of Sperryville, Matthew A. Devers, Lindsey Pullen, Erin Hibbs and Logan Hibbs, all of Front Royal.
