intense study of the 19992000, 2000-2001, and 20012002 budgets. This study was predicated by the ever increasing bottom line of the budget and its effect on the taxpayers of the county.
It was my intention that the questions would be part of the official minutes of the meeting, which they were, and that the answers would be an addendum to those minutes, which they were not. I felt all the citizens of the county should see the questions and the answers.
When I received my copy of the answers from the superintendent he said he was “a little nervous” about the answers being made public. And they were not available at the meeting.
At two and a half minutes into my presentation I was interrupted by the Chairman and told I had 30 seconds to wrap it up.
In 25 years of making presentations to public forums I have never been asked to end my comments prematurely. I always try to prepare my presentations so I can cover the material completely, but not waste the Board’s time. I had also prepared 14 pages of reference material with key points highlighted so the Board members could easily
