The Amissville Community 4-H group meets the fourth Thursday of the month, at 7 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church. The group is open to ages 6-19. Call Mama G at 9373899 for more information.

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be having their Country Ham and Turkey Dinner on Oct. 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. More information will be available next week.

Also, the annual Halloween party is set for Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. Donations are being accepted for the prizes and the refreshments. For information or to make donations call Sandi Carter at 937-4218.

Look for the annual fund drive letter in your mailbox. Please give generously to the Amissville Fire Department. The new tanker truck has been ordered and has to be paid for. Show your support!

Country Kids Playgroup resumed on Monday, Oct. 1 at the Jeffersonton Community Center. New families are welcome to join. The playgroup is a non-profit group for parents/caregivers and children ages infant to five. The group meets every Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon. 1
