Way to go Rapp!
The U-12 “Blue Lightning” girls team battled Culpeper at RCHS. The first half featured both teams pushing the ball down the field but only Culpeper was able to capitalize at the end of the half with two goals. The first came as our goalie, who made several big stops early, came out to challenge a Culpeper striker, but came up just inches shy of knocking the ball away.
The second goal came moments later as a Culpeper player was able to angle a hard shot into the right corner of the goal.
The second half was played to' a standoff as neither team could put the ball into the goal. Blue Lightning members Alana Bryn-Cloud, Jordan Lysaght and Kylie Harlow, played well as midfielders disrupted the Culpeper forwards.
Defender Kara Corbin and midfielder Noel Johns kept the ball away from the goal area with some big kicks. The “Blue Lightning” played an exciting game on both ends of the field and came close on several occasions of scoring, coming up just short.
