democracy requires. If you want your voice heard, you have to speak up. And before you speak up. you have to get involved and know what you are talking about.
Speaking strictly for myself, I make no apologies for exercising my rights as a citizen. I live here, I vote here. I pay taxes here, and I am one of “the people” of Rappahannock County. The “special interest" that I fight for is preserving the unique character of this beautiful, peaceful county, against other interests who would subdivide it, develop it, pave it and overpopulate it. Sprint is just one of the many powerful interests who will eagerly participate in all that if we let them.
We stand accused of active citizen involvement. We freely and proudly plead “guilty” to that, and invite all citizens of the county to bring their “special interests” to their local government.
