Commission meeting, sev! eral local county citizens’ organizations were labeled “special interest groups” that had secretly conspired with Sprint PCS to design a system of cell phone towers for the county. Since the Rappahannock League For Environmental Protection is one of the groups so accused, I would like to set some facts on the public record.
First of all, who and what is RLEP? We are a 31 year old citizen’ action organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Rappahannock ; County’s scenic beauty, natural - environment, tranquil way of life and its rural and historic character. Our meetings are always open and public, and we welcome any resident, member or non-member, to attend. We attend public meet! ings of the Board of ; Supervisors and Planning Commission to express our views as taxpayers, voters and residents. We wish more citizens did that.
