Last Thursday at their bingo game and on Friday at the “Singing and Pickin” party held at the Salem Fire Hall, it was planned for all proceeds and any donations from the community for the fund drive would be sent to the New York City firemen, EMS personnel and rescues, to help support the families of lost firemen during the World Trade Center disaster.
Salem Fire Company acknowledges and greatly appreciates that the amount of $2,660.95 was raised and will be delivered to New York.
Our area is greatly blessed to have a fire company and rescue, who stand ready, whenever the need arises. Thanks, again community.
The next “Singing and Pickin” party at Salem Fire Hall will be on Nov. 7 and there will also be a party of “singing and pickin” at Hackley’s Store in Amissville on Saturday, Oct. 13.
