I decided I was going to apply three coats of stain. That’s an individual choice based on suggestions on the Mix-Wax products. A light sanding is suggested between coats, too.
Over the course of the next few days, I stained, and stained some more. But the floor was beginning to grow more beautiful with each coat.
Then came the final step: applying several coats of polyurethane to protect the finish.
