When Allison Hampton and Linn Barnes return to the Theatre at Washington on Saturday, Oct. 13 for their fifth concert of Celtic music in as many years, the music that they play will have an added dimension.
In addition to their traditional renditions of the music of Celtic Ireland and Galician Spain, the performance by Hampton and Barnes at Washington will have a decidedly American twist. It will include music from the Appalachian and Blues traditions.
Linn Barnes will play two Blues guitar pieces by the Rev. Gary Davis, Death Don't Have No Mercy in This Land and Let Us Get Together, and the concert will include music from the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Curtains of Night and The Cuckoo.
