At a meeting on Oct. 3, the Washington Town Council continued its public hearing on acquiring an option on the 18.33 acre Avon Hall property and, after the conclusion of the hearing, voted unanimously to expend the sum of $10,000 to do so.
The Town now has six months, from Sept. 13, 2001, to complete its investigation into the suitable of the parcel for a Town-wide wastewater treatment system, to identify means and sources of financing for the property and for the wastewater treatment system, to develop a plan for the use of Avon Hall and for any of the 18 acres not required, and to execute the purchase agreement, should the property prove to be suitable.
