Miss Margie Williams of Aaron Mountain Road was a Saturday guest of Ms. Gladys Williams of Culpeper.
The next two weekends, Oct. 13 and 14 and Oct. 20 and 21, our Madison County folks at Graves Mountain in Syria will be having their Apple Harvest Festival.
Included in the days events, which is 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., they will be making Brunswick Stew and apple butter. They will also have Blue Grass music and the Cloggers will be on hand. Call 923-4231 for information.
The Bible Baptist Church on Route 522 is in revival aril this week, each evening at 7 p.m. with Dr. D.M. Hardison as guest speaker and an invitation is extended to all.

Pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins. Anyone traveling through the Sperryville area can’t help but to admire all the bright pumpkins at the roadside stands. Pumpkins have been a part of history here in America for many years.
Native Americans were using pumpkins in their diets when the colonists landed in the New World. They sure make delicious pies and now one of the most popular holidays, Halloween is calling for the increasing demand for pumpkins. At least 1,000 acres here in our state is devoted to raising pumpkins.
Birthday wishes for the week are extended to Joshua Waddell, who adds another year on Monday, Oct. 15.
