“I have a woman in one of my classes who has lost about 60 pounds, and another who swore would never spar now spars with the best of them,” Alexander said.

One of his top students, Lisa Vercellone, is only 19 bouts away from earning her black belt in kickboxing.

New member Alexis Billstone was intrigued by an ad she saw for the program.

“I was looking for some sort of exercise program to lose weight and tone up and I saw their ad and I said to myself, ‘I want to be that person,’ “ she said. “It looked very cool. I have only taken three classes but I already feel like I can take on the world.”

Alexander has the whole Davis family enrolled.

“This is the hardest class I have ever taken in my life, but I love it,” 17-year-old Katie Davis said. “I play three team sports and I have never worked so hard even in a game like I do here. My
