The hint of reds and golds in the trees and brisk mornings announce to all that Fall is upon us. Traditionally it is a time to enjoy the changing colors, crisp mountain views and celebrations of the harvest.
This year’s annual Amissville Country Fall Festival is a true “down -home country” event with sheep, goats, and other livestock, wool-spinning, games and puppet shows for the children, and banjo, harmonica, accordion and singing groups for entertainment.
Activities include old-time crafters, a silent auction, bake sales, apple butter and lots of good food. Community civic and church groups are well represented; including the Lions, Ruritans, Boy and Girls Scouts, 4-H, Methodist, Baptist, and Catholic Churches and others.
