National average return on capital investment for farmers and ranchers is .7 percent, that is seven tenths of one percent not seven. The few farmers that remain in Rappahannock may need the income that Sprint will provide to subsidize their operations.
The bottom line is agriculture preserves open space. The only recourse to failing agriculture is development. These facts, I feel, have been overlooked, especially by the opponents who have achieved financial security or earn their living elsewhere.
I may not personally want the towers, but I resolutely support personal property rights and civil liberties. Denial of any of these towers as a result of pressure from special interests amounts to a taking of those rights and liberties, to that I am ardently opposed.
