The 11th annual World Walk for Breastfeeding was held at many locations around the world this September. This was the first walk for the Marshall La Leche League. Walkers received prizes according to the number of sponsors they had gained or by the amount they raised.
The walk itself was an unmeasured stroll in the fall air. With a child’s wagon, babies in slings and toddling unsteadily, as well as a dog or two, the distance was more symbolic than athletic.
Area businesses donated items for the silent auction and raffle prizes. Among the more coveted items were an overnight stay at the Red Fox Inn, a certificate from Maid Brigade, a Contours Gym membership, and a trail ride from Marriott Ranch.
