These inexpert observations proffered as fact show how uneducated the opponents are regarding agriculture. Many of the complaints suggest to me the objectors would be opposed to electric and telephone service if it would clutter their view.
If a typical farmer or rancher worked a forty hour week his hourly wage would be $2.53, for fifty hours their pay is barely more than $2 per hour, but they usually work more.
In a six month growing season a farmer produces enough grain to feed 180 people for that time period but the income generated is not enough to feed a family of four for one year. It is a sad commentary on our society that an athlete is likely to be paid more for permitting their likeness to be printed on a box of cereal than the producer will receive for the grain that fills the box.
In 1956 that same box of cereal would return producers seven percent of gross retail sales, today it is one percent.
