Watching cholesterol can help a woman counteract some of the risk; however, the most widely used treatment to relieve the problems associated with menopause is hormone replacement therapy, or HRT.
When taken regularly, HRT provides women with estrogen levels similar to those produced naturally before menopause. The medication also includes progestine, a synthetic version of the hormone progesterone.
