The School Boards of Rappahannock, Culpeper, Orange, Madison and Greene Counties are making a survey to determine how much interest there may be in daytime first-year college classes to be offered in a location central to the five counties. If interest warrants, the counties plan to request the University of Virginia to establish an Extension Center in the location selected. The estimated cost, including textbooks, for full-time students will be $500 for the year.
The services of Dr. H.S. Berger, the county school dentist, will again be available on Fridays and Saturdays during the 1961-62 school term. All grade and high school children should take advantage of this opportunity. In spite of getting the county dental program in operation late last fall and the bad winter, about 900 dental corrections were made through June for school children in Rappahannock.
In a photo, Mrs. James M. Settle and Mrs. I.L. Parrish were making dried flower arrangements from the bushels of processed flowers available to them for - the annual House Tour and Dried Flower Sale.
A square dance is held every Saturday at Payne’s Dance Hall, located one mile east of Washington. Music will be by the Virginia Partners.
