Bolen cemetery cleanup/picnic

All interested in going to the Bolen Family Cemetery in Gid Brown Hollow for the annual picnic and cleanup please meet at the end of Route 614 between 10:30 and 11 a m. on Saturday, Oct. 13. Those who have pickup trucks and/or 4x4's are needed to assist in getting there. All are requested to bring food and drinks to share at the picnic.

Cold greenhouse greens workshop

Learn about raising fall and winter greens in an unheated greenhouse. On Saturday. Oct. 20 Donna LaPre will give an tour and workshop, explaining the techniques of growing and harvesting vegetables fall through spring, in a simple hoophouse from 10 to 11:30 a m. Heritage Day scheduled

To commemorate the opening of the new Battle of Front Royal Driving Tour the Warren Rifles Chapter, UDC and the Col. John S. Mosby Camp, SCV are proud to host a Living History Day. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 and is open to the public with no admission fee. Camps open at 9 a.m. Location for the Battle of Front Royal Heritage Day will be on the grounds of the Samuel Miller VFW Post 1860, 1847 North Royal Avenue in Front Royal. Umpires needed

The Rappahannock Athletic Association is currently seeking experienced Baseball Umpires for the fall season as well as the 2002 spring season.
