the Democratic Party’s nomination. Senator McCarthy ran for president most recently in 1988 under the Consumer Party banner. He has also sought the Democratic nomination, finishing second to Lyndon Johnson in the 1968 New Hampshire primary. He also ran in 1972 and 1976.
The weekend of Oct. 19-20 will see the 35th annual Rappahannock House Tour and Dried Flower Sale in historic Washington. The houses on tour this year include, Pleasant View in Harris Hollow. It is the home of Jim and Beth DeBergh and their two sons. Other houses on tour include Ridge View outside Flint Hill off Route 630, the home of William and Isabelle Remington and Windemeer in Amissville off Route 730, the seat of the working farm of Emiel and Lynda Smet.
The Spenyville" High School Class of 1941 held its 50th reunion last month at Four and Twenty Blackbirds in Flint Hill.
