Cindy Hartz and Betty Wood won blue ribbons for their design entries. Categories this month were entitled “Transparency” (in which part of the design is viewed through another layer of material, an overlapping technique which produces good depth in the arrangement), and “A Splash of Autumn,” a line-mass design.
President Mary Revercomb announced that the Warrenton Garden Club is having a flower show at Airlie on Oct. 16 and 17. President Revercomb also reported that two new classes in Japanese design would be offered to club members soon, one for beginners this fall, and one for intermediates this spring.
Hostesses for September were Sandra Anderson, Celine Siira, and Helen Bridges.
