Sped i to the Rappahannock News

The Panther golf team finished its second season with a very respectable showing in the Regional Tbumament in which it beat three other teams. Bull Run District Champion, Brentsville, won the competition, shooting a 328. Stonewall Jackson was second with 330, Rappahannock shot 362. Other scores: Randolph-Henry 351; Chatham 375; CentralLunenburg 374; Buffalo Gap 376; and Altavista 342.

The best score in the tournament was recorded by Diana Mesa who shot an outstanding 72 to leave her male counterparts in the dust.

Michael Fairbrother got off to a nightmare start on the first hole where the green speed and pin placement proved treacherous. Losing four strokes to par, Mike refused to give up despite the difficult conditions on the greens. His determination paid off with a fourth place overall in the tournament and advancement to the State Tbumament. His final score was 79, a great score under the circumstances. Congratulations, Mike!
