Lottie and Russ were blessed with six childreri, William Lewis “Moody,” James Edward “Sud," Ruth Eleanor, Russell Lee “Sam,” Charlotte Anne and Paul Douglas. Those children have given Lottie nine grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
Her husband Russ died 35 years ago this Christmas. He had emphysema and got a shot whenever he felt something coming on. Lottie recalled, “all the children were home and he started feeling not right. He said, “no shot, I’m goin’ home. I’m going to a better place.”
But he was fretting about Lottie and who would take care of her. “Don’t worry about momma. We’ll take care of her,” she remembers the children saying.
