• Our little “pumpkins” in grades Pre-School, PreKindergarten, and Kindergarten traveled down the lane to Muskrat Haven Farm last week. They spent the afternoon picking out pumpkins and apples, and taking a hayride. The weather was just warm enough that they arrived back at school slightly wilted, but excited about their finds. Thanks go out to the wonderful staff at Muskrat Haven Farm!
• Students taking the SAT Math Prep course twice a week are starting to relax a little. Although the first available SAT exam is Oct. 12, the students are feeling better prepared, thanks to the watchful eye of Mr. Richard Martin. Many of the students have risen up through the grades here using the Saxon Math program, which builds upon itself with repetitive usage of formulas and math problems. The Saxon Math program continues to use problems learned from years back so that students will remember and correctly use what they’ve learned. Good luck, guys!
• “Well rested, well tested” is our motto, and next week, we will put it to work. Monday is a holiday for WCDS students, as it is Columbus Day. Tuesday morning is PSAT testing day, so all students should come in fresh and ready to give it their best shot.
