This year marks the 100th year since 4-H was started at the national level. Virginia will join all the other states in the Centennial Celebration even though 4-H did not officially start in Virginia until 1908.
Rappahannock County’s 4-H Centennial Celebration will be at the Rappahannock Park on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 4-6 p.m.
Activities will include an anniversary cake competition sponsored by the Rappahannock National Bank. The public is invited to enter a decorated cake and the Rappahannock National Bank will award prizes for the best-decorated cake. First prize is $100; second prize, $75
