“When construction of the hospital is completed, 78 percent of our hospital will be new or significantly renovated,” Ms. Petty said in an interview, adding that the completion date for Fauquier Hospital is the middle or end of 2004.
Unlike Culpeper’s capital campaign, Fauquier Hospital is relying on annual donations and hand-raising by the hospital’s foundation to provide the funding needed for the bonds issued to finance the expansion.

Culpeper Regional Hospital, which has served its neighboring counties for 42 years, had an unexpected welcome surprise recently when an anonymous donor stepped forward with a $1 million matching gift pledge for the hospital campaign.
“The donor came forward with this very special offer to inspire large gifts and see the project is brought to completion as soon as possible,” said Melinda Hancock, executive director of the Culpeper Regional Hospital Foundation.
