Corbin cut in front of the Clarke receiver and race 40 yards with an interception for a touchdown. The kick failed, but the score was now 27 to 0 in favor of the home team and that’s how the first half ended.
The third quarter looked like more of the same as the Panthers picked up their final score of the game with a 19yard screen pass from Corbin to Clinedinst that gave the home side a 33 to 0 lead midway through the quarter. After that it was time for all the boys who had worked so hard all season to see some playing time. Everyone got in the game and acquitted himself well.
Eighth grader Simon Berry had a fine play when he dove and intercepted an Eagle pass to stop a Clarke drive early in the second half. Freshmen halfback Justin Robinson looked good carrying the ball 9 times and gaining 35 yards.
Offensive workhorse Nick Compton, led all ground gainers with 85 yards on 15 carries. Corbin had another real fine game for the Panthers and was solid on defense as well as offense again. Blair Atkins had 4 unassisted tackles, including one for a sack, to lead the defense.
