The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection invites the public to eiyoy a “Rappahannock Sampler” of the county’s bounty at its annual meeting on Friday, Oct. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Washington Volunteer Fire Department Fire Hall.
The sample will feature wine tastings from Farfelu, Gray Ghost, Rappahannock Cellars, Sharp Rock and Smokehouse wineries; coffee by Central Coffee Roasters, dder from Williams’ Orchard, goat cheese by Tack House Kitchen, and food items prepared by Rae’s Deli and ECOW.
Music selections for the evening will be provided by The Rappahannock Quartet. There is no charge for this festive event.
A short business meeting will be conducted for members to elect the organization directors for 2003. But, President Bob Lander emphasizes, “The evening activities are devoted to meeting with old and new neighbors, sampling and socializing. Our organization is 32 years old and we want to celebrate.” He adds, “County residents can begin a ‘Rappahannock Weekend’ at our meeting and then take-in the county’s beauty by attending Trinity’s (Trinity Episcopal Church) Dried Flower Sale and House Ibur on Saturday and Sunday.” J".
