Homes open include: Breezy Knoll, home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Burke Hertz; Old Fogg Farm, now owned by Admiral and Mrs. Josef Gardiner and presently known as High Meadow and Oak Shade, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leibold on Route 643 west of Amissville.

Oct. 15, 1992

A group of Rappahannock Elementary parents put in a day’s work recently so that county children can play. The PTO project improved the playground. Parents participating included Kathy Kreyling, Arthur Neufeld, David Smith, Peter Kreyling, Jonathan and Ellen ' Neill-Dore and Joan Culmer-Platt.

Welby Lynn, a 10th grader at Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly, has been selected from entries throughout the United States and Canada as the overall fourth place winner in the junior level of the Knights of Columbus Quincentennial Essay Competition. She is the daughter of Pamela Lynn of Washington and the late William E. Lynn Jr.

A front page photo featured a Maryland rider and his pony with a British Army polo team at recent matches at Fannon’s Farm in Castleton.

Another photo featured Mike Tanner and E.J. Aylor canning apple butter for F.T. Valley Baptist Church at Sperryville Festival earlier in the month.

Sunday, Oct. 11 was Scout Day at The Flying Circus in Bealeton. Two troops from the Rappahannock Area Girl Scouts with the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council attended and enjoyed the air show immensely. Those attending from Jr. Girl Scout Troop 547 with Leaders Sarah Brown and Edie Clark were Amanda Brown, Haley Clark, Summer Alexander, Kate May, Emily Crabtree, Cara Levick, Amanda Clark, Emily Bare, Amanda Sims, Erin Platt and Bobbie Jo Brown. Also accompanying the troop were Steve and Karen Alexander and daughter, Kori, Andy Platt, Linda Clark and Alice Beahm.
