Lottie Aylor is a member of the Missionaries Circle. She’s a member and Mother of the Hopewell Baptist Church, Mother of the Association Choir, Mother of the Ministers and Deacons Association Choir and Mother of the Women Auxiliary. “All these children I got!” she said with a smile.

When they celebrated Lottie Aylor’s 80th birthday party at the church, Jim Bill was there and in good health. He would soon need Lottie’s care because of health-related issues. And Lottie is sure that if Miss Mattie hadn’t fallen when she was 107 and broken her hip, she’d still be here. She took care of both of them. Miss Mattie died in 1996, two months before turning 108, and her son, Jim Bill, died in 1998.
As she looks back over her blest years, Mrs. Aylor says, “helping somebody that needs help. That’s the most important thing. That’s the way I was raised.”
