Hearthstone
sets Fall Festival
for Oct. 19
The 2002 Hearthstone Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, from noon to 10 p.m., with games and children’s activities, pony rides, a mini-petting zoo, the Duck Race, cider pressing, a raffle, “Instant Poetry,” an after-dark bonfire/drumming circle, and live music for the whole family beginning at 4 p.m.
Featured musicians include Anna Wolfe, Alice and Fred Currin, Ben Mason, Amy Silver and Raphael Lorenzo, Diane Bardwell, and the reggae band Black Sheep.
Other highlights of the festival are the Mystic Fire Dancers with Charmaine Lee, and “Fat Cat Corporate Strategy Meeting Gets Unexpected Visitors,” a 15minute play with the performing group “A Thousand Faces.”
Food will be available for purchase including Marguerite’s chili and cornbread, Sam’s homemade french fries, and a plethora of fresh baked goods.
Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children 6-16 (children under six free). Proceeds benefit Hearthstone School. Highway 211, two miles west of Sperryville.
