interests have filled their house with unique collections of art, books, textiles and musical and operatic videos. Their interest in art came naturally, and their house is a testament to both their parents’ tastes as well as their own.
In the living room, two brass rubbings from Holy Trinity Church in Cambridgeshire, England, dated from the fifteenth century, and Mrs. Mahoney’s handstitched quilt fill the space, and several mobiles catch the eye. Several original tables hold intricate sculptures, and the whole room is a tribute a discerning and eclectic taste.
A Picasso in the powder room, a Dali print in the entrance, original woodblock prints by Hiroshige in the breakfast room — these are only a few of the dramatic works on paper that are but a small part of the decor.
On the way to the master bedroom are several lithographs, and a magnificent many hued blue quilt, recently finished by Mrs. Mahoney, coordinates with the blues in the artwork. Wonderful views of the woods and the mountains provide the natural beauty portrayed by the paintings.
The Mahoneys expanded the original kitchen, and it now features cherry cabinets, a wood stove and a pleasant seating area with a view of the grounds.
