The Board then discussed means of overcoming this year’s State aid shortfall. The Friends of the Library may serve to supplant financial resources in the short-term, but Mr. Gannon pointed out that expected State revenue shortfalls over the next few years begged a long-term solution, and the Board decided to form a committee to investigate new funding prospects.
Trustees Jim Gannon, Gordon Axelson, and Marie Davis will join Library Director Shaffer in staffing this committee, and they will meet before the October Library Board meeting to begin the brainstorming process.
