Rappahannock County Public School System until retirement again last year. He is still a substitute driver.
Mrs. Markham worked for Fairfax County Park Authority for a number of years, as did all the Markham’s children during high school. For the last five years of her tenure with the organization, Mrs. Markham managed Twin Lakes Golf Course. In 1990, Mrs. Markham went to work at the Rappahannock Medical Center and resigned from that position just last year.
The Sunday celebration was well attended by family and friends and "a good time was had by all ' remarked an attendee.
The Markham's daughters made the anniversary cake. The goblets the couple used for toasting were actually used by Mrs. Markham's parents in 1980, when they celebrated their 50th anniversary. Photo boards graced several tables, one of the couple's 50 years together and the other of couples celebrating 50 years together. There were four sets of couples on each side who had celebrated 50 years. Son-inlaw, Doug Zuke also presented a slide presentation of the couple's 50 years.
