country style, it would seem that an ideal client for Ms. Forbes would share in those tastes. Color and flowers interest her the most. Green is a personal favorite color of Ms. Forbes’, which she loves because it is the color of nature.

“Every flower has a green stem and leaves—it really is a color that goes with everything”, states Ms. Forbes. Pleasing the client

Concern with comfort as ^ell as prettiness is a practical aspect of Ms. Forbes’ role as design advisor. In one instance, a client was thinking of a white sofa in a family room, newly redone with red walls—a very attractive combination. Upon Ms. Forbes’ suggestion, however, the client opted for a black and white Toile de Jouy print, a choice which carried out the French country look, while minimizing the depredations of active children and pets.

Helping people from the ground up is Ms Forbes’ favorite kind of project. People, she says, get overwhelmed when the builder is ready and all of a sudden
