R.H. Ballard Art, Rug & Home’s show “5” displays the latest work of five artists, and celebrates the gallery’s fifth year. Barbara Heile Sherwood, Tanya Richey, Christopher Stephens, Thomas Mullany and Kiki Felix are featured. Each artist in the show presents the landscape in a different way. All orchestrate the convergence of color, light and space to create a sense of place in their work.
Rappahannock’s community is focused on its sense of place; everyone with a unique vision of what the county is and ought to be. Ballard’s “5” offers us all the opportunity to examine works of art and ask a few questions. In wondering about the motives of the artists we are examining our own.
