Inside linebacker, Justin Gheen continued his fine defensive play; hustling all over the field and seemingly getting in or every play with 12 assisted tackles.
Overall the Panthers had 223 yards of offense to the Eagle 61. After the game Coach Pullin said, “It was great to win this one for the home fans who have supported us so well this year. It also showed the coaches and the boys how far we’ve come by playing so well without making a lot of mental mistakes in the game. Our experience is starting to show and that means we’re not going to beat ourselves, other teams will have to beat us. We tackled much better today. Again the boys are learning you can’t arm-tackle and bring down a good runner. The boys alsc gang-tackled very well today We had lots of players going tc the ball and getting in on the action rather then watching the play. It’s been a fun year. ' hate to see it end. Hopefully, we can finish with a win at Page on Monday and that would give us a .500 season. That would be a terrific start for a first-year program. I’m really proud of how the boys have played and I hope the fans are too.”
