Students in grades seven through twelve attended the Piedmont Regional Science Fair at Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville on March 14. The fair was a one-dav event and students were judged in their categories, awarded commendations, and the senior division participants competed for the right to enter the Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair.

Junior division winners were: Baillee Batcheler Second Place in Inorganic Chemistry; Laura Wheatley Honorable Mention in Social and Computing Sciences; Patrick Treanor Honorable Mention in Inorganic Chemistry; Joseph Rechin Honorable Mention in Engineering; Emily Raney Honorable Mention in Physics; and Jenkins Dove Honorable Mention in Physics.

Special Junior Division awards went to Joseph Rechin for the Department of Navy Second Place award; Laura Wheatley for the Army Social and Computing Sciences Award; and Baillee Batcheler for the Army Inorganic Chemistry Award.

Other Junior Division participants included: Lisa Maloney, Tristan Sonnett, Clay Vickers, Joshua Makela, and Jesse Palmer.
