Your children will suffer. My children will suffer. This county will suffer. Good teachers will leave for better paying jobs in better working conditions. Athletic and other programs will be cut. Students will struggle to keep up with their contemporaries in the rest of the state.
If you think college and the job market is competitive now, just give it a few years. One thing that separates this country from some others you may have recently seen on television is quality, progressive education. We, the United States, Virginia and Rappahannock County, may not always come in first or be the best, but we can at least give our children a fighting chance to be competitive.
You may disagree with the need for increased tax revenues in this county. That is fine. Healthy political discussions are what make this country great. Americans can disagree; yet fight sideby-side defending our right to do just that. In the mean time, would you be interested in a box of oranges or some magazines?
