Recently I received a letter
from school requesting a tax-deductible contribution to begin a football program at Rappahannock County High School. I certainly enjoyed my high school football and baseball playing days, and feel RCHS should have a football program.
Of course at my high school we did not have cross-country, wrestling, volleyball or soccer programs. I seem to remember something about not having enough money. The children of this county need and deserve good, quality youth and school athletic programs.
Today, the recreational youth soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball programs are being squeezed for practice and playing facilities. A youth football program will make matters worse.
