• Rappahannock County Public Schools are now participating in the President’s Student Service Awards Challenge. This is a program that encourages children to volunteer in their communities. Kindergarten through twelfth grade students have the opportunity to earn a Silver or Gold Lapel Pin designed by the White House, and a certificate signed by the President of the United States.
How' are these awards earned? Students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade who have performed at least 100 hours of service within the last 12 month period are eligible for a Gold Award.
Kindergarten through 8th grade students who have performed at least 50 hours of service in the past 12 month period are eligible for a Silver Award.
What qualifies?
• Service with church or community organizations.
