The kitchen
The most common room to remodel is the kitchen. Taylor said if the client can afford it, the most popular thing to do is gut the kitchen and start over.
Other options are less costly. People are usually thinking about changing cabinets, countertops and appliances but don’t think about one very important area — lighting. Taylor says lighting holds one-third of the importance of any room, and most kitchen lighting is not good enough. “To remodel the kitchen, you must have the proper lighting,” Taylor said.
Also, if the overhead lighting is done right, under-thecabinet lighting is not necessary.
