spectacular and different from anything we have in this area. I am very excited by the prospects. An excessful spring

It was Oscar Wilde, I think, who wrote that “Nothing succeeds like excess.” That’s my plan for this year. I’ve got lots and lots of flower seeds from the usual sources, plus a large variety from England. That’s all well and good, I think, but it is the Australian seeds that pique my interest most and which I plan on giving my greatest focus.

The kicker is, I don’t know if they will:

• Sprout.

• Grow in Virginia.

The packages give no clue. And you know, the climate in Australia is a tiny bit different than it is here. That continent is largely desert, with most of the population living along the
