training. They followed that with a tri-scrim mage at William Monroe with Page County High School on Thursday, March 14. Both the girls and the boys’ teams had really good days as the RCHS teams ran away the contest at William Monroe.
Sophomore Ryisha Cook was her usual dominant self in the sprints finishing 1st in the 100m and 200m races, as well as the long jump. Senior Jessica Nawrocki also collected three firsts in the shot put, discus, and 300m hurdles.
Her sister, freshman Mattie, had three 2nd place finishes and a 1st place in the 100m hurdles. The boys were led juniors Gregg Jackson,/ Noah Starks and Ryan Brown. Starks was 1st in the 100m and. 200m sprints and ran a leg on the 1st place 4 x lOOm-relay team. Brown captured 1st in the long jump and senior Phillip Thomas was 1st in the 800m. All in all, it was a very impressive showing by Head Coach Ann Spiekers’ chargers and maybe signals a turn around in the schools’track fortunes this season.
