Mr. Rosenbaum listed committee membership and functions that include: George Rosenbaum for | music booking and food vendors; Kaye Kohler for children’s exhibits and fundraising, Bev Atkins for food and music coordination; Elaine Kramer for donations and fundraising; Claudia Mitchell for fopd vendors; Roger Pierson (Boy Scouts) for parking; Carol Little for parade coordination; Meredith and Henry Gorfein for non-profit group coordination; the Rev. Phillip Bailey for parking, logistics and advice; and Mitzi Young as an advisor.
Mayor Willis, Town Attorney John Bennett, and Council members discussed the issues of liability, parking, and event funding, and other considerations, and in the end agreed, by consensus, to permit the ad hoc committee to proceed with its planning and management of the 2002 celebration.
Treasurer’s report
Treasurer Alice Butler reported on the Town’s finances, noting consolidated assets of $699,142.26, down some $4,000 from that noted in February, and water works assets of $11,840.90 through the close of the February reporting period.
